TTC's newest streetcar, 4400, snakes through the crossovers at Exhibition Loop during a test run. This would be only its second trip out onto public streets, with all previous testing taking place at Hillcrest Complex.

In the final week before a 16 week shutdown to prepare for the arrival of new trains and a doubling in service levels, OC Transpo (Capital Railway) C3 crosses the raging Rideau River after departing Carleton Station at Carleton University.

One of my favourites: Modern verses Historic: VIA Rail #67 is Turbo equipped today as the train cruises past the Port Hope station built 1856 by the Grand Trunk Railway. The CN freight shed is right behind the lead power unit. Note the interchange track in the foreground. At the middle left is CP Rail's Belleville Sub bridge over the Ganaraska River. Construction in the background is the infamous Eldorado Nuclear factory facilities (now owned and operated by Camenco ). Of course today a lot of what is in this image is also History. Making its best impression of CP's Gap, Alberta, CN's Swan Landing, Alberta is host to CP Train 112-22 detouring on CN's Edson Sub due to multiple floods/washouts on CP's Laggan Sub. It's seen departing the siding after meeting CN's A411 and CP's 113, wrapping itself around Brule Lake.Community Response

The crew of the final southbound run of The Northlander posed in front of their train upon arrival at Toronto Union Station. Though they remained jovial throughout the entire trip, it was evident that the crew was not pleased with the train's cancellation.

A refreshing change from the horde of toasters and waffle irons heading up most CP freights, two shopped SD60's, CP 6238 and 6234, roll what I think was 143 through Lovekin. 1434hrs.

A westbound VIA train has just come to a stop in a cloud of steam after being nailed by the hotbox detector at Newtonville in March 1986. CN 393, led by HR-616 2105 and two six-axle MLWs passes the VIA train's head-end.

Extra 168 South has the white flags flying as it approaches the Sault. It was rare to see 5 GP7's on the ore trains at this time - usually the SD40's were used for this service.

CN P69831 18 – ONT 1806 South pulls into Bracebridge for a quick station stop, despite Northern/Central Ontario's best efforts, scene’s like this may soon be history. Recently, crews all over Ontario Northland’s system have been applying these ”STOP the sale of ONTC” signs on many of ONT’s locomotives showing their support tor the protest.

Back in the days of the Ore Train; a run from mines in Temagami to Hamilton for Dofasco. It usually got 5 units (GP40-2, or SD40's) and 90 cars.

Although the line had been cleared by the passage of 697 some 4 1/2 hours previously the continuing snowfall along with the passing of a road plow made enough of a bank for 1809 to pick up some frosty sideburns as 698 hit the Old Muskoka Road crossing.

On Saturday May 19, CN 484 is tucked away at the old CN Hamilton Shops in Hamilton after testing the North and No 1 track of the Halton Sub from Mac Yard to Burlington West then the North Track from Bayview to Ridout on the Dundas Sub, the train wyed at London and proceeded east testing the South Track from Ridout to Bayview. Twas a nice run majority of it being track speed so here I take a photo of my test train as I bid it adieu for the taxi cab ride back to Toronto.
