CN's 0700 Prince George South Yard (North End) crew has "gone for beans" leaving BCOL C40-8M 4609 and CN SD40-2W 5280 idling outside of the lunch room. BCOL 4609 is the last of the series (4601-4626) remaining on the roster and has spent the last year of its life back home in Prince George working various yard jobs. 9 days later, CN sent this engine east on train Q198 with an uncertain fate. As of December 1st, 2024 it is in Winnipeg in "Long Term" storage status.

New Brighton, MN - Jasper, AB train P00981 01 passes Mile 220 of CN's Edson Sub between Devona and Henry House. The train was originally heading to Vancouver to begin CN's "Safety Week" but it was decided very last minute to instead park the train at Jasper and begin the eastbound trip to Winnipeg from there. It's scheduled to depart Jasper on Tuesday, June 11 as train P008. CN is also running similar trains from Halifax-Winnipeg (P007) and Baton Rouge-Winnipeg (P009).

CN C40-8M 2425 leads train M310 east at Mile 8.0 of CN's Albreda Sub. Upon arrival in Edmonton, this engine was shut down for good and sent to Winnipeg dead and drained on train Q118. It was then subsequently retired for no apparent reason other than due to age on April 19, 2021, not even 20 days after being seen here, alive and well. Sad.

CN's EJE painted heritage engine leads 205 potash loads west on the Edson Sub between Devona and Henry House. This 29,310 ton train originated at the potash mine in Alwinsal, SK and is destined for Thornton Yard in Vancouver, BC.

DH GP38-2 7304 has been assigned to Kamloops, BC during the last few weeks. I happened to be in town and noticed it broke free from the yard job and watched it head west towards Ashcroft, BC on train V52-11, the Ashcroft Wayfrieght, in the early AM. Knowing it would be back east in decent light, I set up between Munro and Cherry Creek on the Thompson Sub at Mile 15.9.

CN finally sent one of their new heritage engines through Jasper at a decent time of the day, and it happened to be sunny to boot. Here's a shot of train Q10151 22 on the north track of CN's Albreda Sub near Lucerne, BC. This train was originally train Q11771 18 (Memphis, TN - Edmonton, AB) before being renumbered at Walker Yard. It primarily was made up of Roberts Bank traffic which necessitated the change.
