Cab car GO 9851 trails on an eastbound train for Pickering crossing over from track 3 to 4 at Dufferin approaching Exhibition GO, while a westbound pair of self-propelled cars can be seen on track 1 making their station stop. <br><br><i>Scan and editing by Jacob Patterson.</i>

On February 11, 1972, a <a href=https://churcher.crcml.org/circle/Wreck%20Details/1972Morrisburg.html>derailment at Morrisburg on the Kingston Sub </a> and resulting propane tank explosions shut down the mainline for a short time forcing CN trains to detour via the CPR. Rounding the curve on approach to Leaside at the top end of the Don branch of the Belleville Sub, CN 50, the Rapido, is just one of many detours to head for Montreal via Smith's Falls.<br><br><i>Scan and editing by Jacob Patterson.</i>

Looking back from the cab of <a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=56684>the Guelph Junction road switcher,</a> three GO Transit consists are viewed tied down at Guelph Junction awaiting their next runs to Toronto. Rolling eastbound into Agincourt Yard, Extra B&O 4487 (class lights lit) approaches the north platform at <a href=https://www.trha.ca/history/stations/agincourt-station-canadian-pacific-railway/>Agincourt station</a> with a short cut of autoracks. Taken in mid-late February, the lease of B&O F units began only just before this <a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=29413>on February 10, 1972.</a>

Operating as extra 6354, former train number 668 - the southbound RDC-2 passenger car from Owen Sound- is seen arriving at Palmerston, where RDC-1 6101 sits nosed up to CN 6118 on the Newton Sub side of the station on Saturday, October 24, 1970. Both 6101 and 6354 will be combined, and will depart at 0715h for the trip to Toronto (formerly train 658) via the Fergus, Guelph, Halton, and Weston Subs. Extra 6118 will too depart at 0715h for Stratford. <br><br>The official last runs of the RDC service to Owen Sound, Kincardine, Southampton, and Goderich was the evening of Friday, Oct 23, 1970. Though these services continued to operate to Toronto (and Stratford) as extras until the end of the month. Making a runpast at the Credit River bridge in Mississauga's west end, Ontario Rail Association's Credit Valley Railway 1057 smokes it up during the northbound run to Orangeville and return as part of the City of Brampton's centennial celebrations. Today, the Derry Road crossing is located roughly at the tail end of the train. <br><br><i>Scan and editing by Jacob Patterson.</i>

The weekend of September 13 - 15, 1963 marked a massive undertaking by the Upper Canada Railway Society, a 692.2 mile excursion from Toronto - Ottawa - North Bay - Temagami - Toronto, with seventeen coaches behind CNR 6167. With the train having run overnight from <a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=57853>Toronto - Ottawa on the 13th,</a> the train turned west and <a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=55181>departed the nation's capital</a> early on the 14th. 6167 would be removed at North Bay, with ONR FP7s <a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=56096>handling the train to Temagami overnight.</a> The consist returned to North Bay on the morning of the 15th, with 6167 taking over once again for the return to Toronto. <br><br>About halfway back to North Bay from Temagami, passengers have detrained for a runpast, as the pair of green and yellow FP7s round the curve at approximately mile 31.5, roughly the area of the settlement of Jocko. <i>[Geotagged located not exact]</i> <br><br><a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=54757>Running across northern Ontario</a> <br><br><a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=54806>Arrival at North Bay.</a> <br><br>Further information will be detailed in upcoming posts, but can also be found in the <a href=https://railwaypages.com/upper-canada-railway-society-ucrs-and-its-publications>December 1963 UCRS news letter.</a> <br><br><i>Scan and editing by Jacob Patterson.</i>

With full pomp and circumstance provided by the Band of the Royal Regiment of Canada, CNR 6060 is paraded towards Toronto's harbourfront at the Lakeshore Boulevard crossing, just east of Bathurst Street (note the<a href=https://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=30123> tower at Bathurst north yard</a> in the distance.) It is Victoria Day weekend, and opening day for the Canadian Railway Historical Association's Toronto & York Division Harbourfront Railway Museum, just to the south of Lakeshore Blvd. 6060 is taking part by hauling museum equipment to the new site, in this image <a href=https://www.trainweb.us/oldtimetrains/photos/cnr_diesel/7988_P.jpg>pulling MLW S2 7988.</a> The museum would close and equipment dispersed into the mid 80's. Touring the nation as part of the 1967 centennial celebrations, one of the two trains carrying the Canadian Armed Forces Military Tattoo climbs the grade at Dundas, bound for an evening performance in Sarnia. The tattoo was designed to operate as three parts, with part 1 being the initial tours of the two trains from late March through mid May, performing arena shows with 450 performers. One consist was made up of CN equipment, known as 'train A,' and carried the 'blue' group of performers, while the other was made up of CP equipment, aka 'train B,' carrying the 'red' group of performers. In late May, both groups combined, and additional performers added, bringing the total to about 1700 for the next stage of shows; stadium performances from late May through August. The final part of the tattoo would be smaller shows beginning in late summer, and wrapping up in mid October. Westbound out of Toronto, a TOFC train rolls beneath Dufferin Street, passing the old Exhibition station, out of service about eleven years now. This station was opened in 1912 to serve the annual Canadian National Exhibition at the nearby Exhibition grounds, replacing <a href=https://www.trha.ca/history/stations/exhibition-station/>an earlier station</a> nearby. It continued to see use until 1968, when the new Exhibition GO station was opened east of Dufferin Street, on the site of the original Exhibition station. These platforms would see one more bit of service for the 1979 CNE due to crowding at Exhibition GO, with this location being temporarily named "Dufferin Gates." Lots of activity at North Bay as GMD FP9s 1504 - 1510, the power for North Bay - Engleheart mixed train M411, pass between MLW RS3 1309, paused during switching moves, and ALCO S2 1202, seen moving spreader 529 around the yard.
