By 2008, most CP southbounds for the Hamilton Sub were being routed via Guelph Jct with only the eastbounds (northbounds) designated for the CN Oakville Sub...however the day after a snowstorm, a very late 254 heads west across the Oakville Sub past Aldershot cold storage kicking up the snow; presumably the Hamilton Sub south of Guelph Jct was snowed in.

The day after a snow storm moved across Southern Ontario on the first weekend of March break 2008 ....CP slung togther 6 units to get this train over the CN Oakville Sub to Canpa

CP 8839 was somewhat new when this photo was taken and looks to be completely in charge here as it eases CP 255 out onto CN track for the short trip to Canpa.

CN 394 didn't disappoint this day......NS(Conrail)C40/ BNSF(Santa Fe)B40 and a CN SD70 as it heads east under signal 361T3 at Snake.....Note on track 2 a WB yellow signal and a restricting signal on the Aldershot yard lead.

"Do not couple to coupler" well that worked out well...D&H 7304 was sent back to Canada for some repair work - you can see the note just below the coupler, and **unfortunately** had to lead. Here it is with CEFX/CP units trailing working uphill at MP 64 Thomson drive in Waterdown.

A very mild January winter day..has set the mood here..most snow has melted and everything is brown plus low cloud cover is hanging over....CP 159 hustles the usually moderate 6000 foot train up the hill through the wooden bridge.

Saturday March 8 2008...the beginning of March break...except the masses were having trouble exiting at the airport due to a snowstorm covering the region.....Although CP 255 has no trouble making its way out onto the CN with SOO 6053 and two leasers trailing. No one else was on the walkway this day : )

With a little over a year to go before the CP trackage rights on the CN Oakville Sub came to an end...CP 255 is barely off CP trackage when the ditch lights dimmed and he slowed to a stop at Waterdown. Shot from atop the "berm" with Hwy 403 in the background

You had to be here for this one. It was a memorable experience.....a heads up via the internet...from what I remember it was a BNSF(Santa Fe)/NS/BNSF/CN conglomeration....as the last light was fading....I could see him dimming his headlight in the distance as an passenger train was lined up in the other direction...would I get doubled?...391 slowed to a crawl way back at Waterdown Road...I was thinking the daylight would disappear before he ever gets here and no shot....suddenly....I could see the heat and exhaust pouring out of the locomotives in the distance; and luckily he kept the ditch lights off; the telephoto effect did not do this one justice as he blasted by me..with that beautiful Santa Fe logo still on the front.... Does anyone know if this unit is now a CN 21xx ?

CN 393 was always a candidate for some foreign power.....CN 5651 / BNSF 917 / BNSF/ATSF 151 elephant style passing Lemmonville Rd bridge late afternoon. That ATSF 151 is a long way from it's premier assignments years ago on the Z-199 hotshot between Chicago and San Francisco.

Everything happens at once....setting up on the Lemmonville Road bridge to shot an "A-A-A" lashup of cowls on a westbound.....an eastbound appeared with a colorful lashup - CN SD75 / UP-SP C44 / UP C44 / CN SD40. If CP'9000's are referred to as barns...why aren't CN's nicked the same ? : )

A few hours later on the same Sunday morning, March 25 2007....CN 394 passes Snake with BNSF 573 B40/ BNSF Sd40 and two CN GP9's..with work at Aldershot ahead. If I recall correctly..as I watched this train pass Burlington station, a certain "host" of this site ( no pun intended ) was at the station- in his toyota- also taking pictures of this train.
