What I thought was a normal - run of the mill WB CN proved out to be a little more.....IC E unit and several corporate cars were returning from CN Family Days in Montreal on this westbound

How would you like to be out in these elements? A raging late day lake effect blast was affecting the west end of Lake Ontario on this Feb 1 2008 day. 435 is working Aldershot while the maintainer stops and checks the switches. CP 255 with CP 5997 and BNSF 6919 repaying some HP hours...heads east on the CN just after sunrise. Shot from the berm...in the days I could drive my car up to this spot. I notice some industrious railfans have now planted "lounger" chairs here :)

Line'em up: The new track 3 was just recently opened at Snake and offered some interesting photo opps: Here an unknown EB with SD50/2 CN-IC SD40's/3 GP9's passing the usual afternoon Aldershot working trains: 333 autos from Oakville for Buffalo, and 431 from Oakville for South Buffalo, both stopped to work Aldershot at the same time.

Don't forget to take the garbage out. For awhile in 2007, CN 385 was hauling large cuts of Toronto garbage to Michigan - someone may know specifically where...here 2 CN's and a UP (this was the FPON enriched 2005-2007 era on CN) head past Snake interlocking...the new track 3 had yet to be placed into service yet...about a month later the first trains were sent over it.

A mild March winter day..sees this "occasional" intermodal train 150 with all marine containers heading east with a trio of BNSF power. Anyone know what the origin /destination of this train was, the WB counterpart was 151; it disappeared quite some time ago.

A bitter cold Saturday morning in February 2008....a late running train 149 WB with a long gone SD50 5403 leading heads over the CP as eastbound 240 descends down from Guelph Jct.

The Steel train negotiates down the Hamilton Sub with SOO 6051- BNSF 8057 (paying back HP hours ) - CP 6016. This combo ping ponged back and forth on this train for some time.

A solid 95 loaded multilevels from GM Oshawa rips west past the Aldershot VIA/GO station...it wasn't much longer that the two daily WB solid auto trains lasted out of Oshawa, these 10,000 foot trains were nice.

"BNSF 788 East calling foreman...." the great thing about living beside the tracks when a work program is going on....you dont miss anything interesting...grab the camera...walk up the berm...click...walk back home to work...Here an EB BNSF-UP combo head down track 3 with a mixed freight
