With the sun below the horizon, two strikes of the gong sound off as TTC Peter Witt streetcar 2894 pulls away from the east turning loop at the Halton County Radial Railway, including the original Toronto Suburban Railway Meadowvale station shelter. This evening was an event for their membership (and invited photographers) in celebration of the museum's 70th anniversary, having been founded in January 1954.The public event will take place next Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 1:30pm, featuring a number of invited guests (including founding member, Bob Sandusky,) a parade of streetcars, and unveiling of a plaque at the site of the first spike (just behind me in this image.)
