Caption: With the removal of the Downtown Spur (opposite to the King. St. CNR Station), CN invested in a new loading dock on the East Side of town that utilised the remnants of the former Welland Railway tracks (north-south) that dead ended just north of Bridge #20. The Unloading Dock was rarely used, but on this day it has received two (2) flat cars of equipment. In the background you can see a lake ship (right), and INCO Chimney (left). The tracks were removed in the late 90's, the loading dock remains as an odd reminder that the rails once went through here.

Most interesting.
Thanks AWM, I miss all these little sidings, spurs, and yards…unfortunately the railway industry these days is largely high volume commodity… I guess we will call that… Progress
