Caption: With the rail train now assembled and ready to continue the final movement north, there was one last thing in Palmerston to do and that was simply to eat. The crew of the rail train and other CN workers who had made the trek descended on the town to grab a quick bite at local establishments likely keeping with a tradition that had occurred countless times before. Seen directly at the Main Street crossing or Highway 123 depending how you look at it, CN GP9RM’s 4115 and 4140 and their rail train pause in the heart of Palmerston.
Today, a Google street view image reveals that a large convenience store and parking lot are now located where the train was photographed, however nearby a nicely painted mural adorns a neighboring building depicting a railway crossing as a fitting tribute to what was once there.

Great image! That bench looks a bit close to the tracks, LOL
Thanks Marcus. After I scanned the slide I saw that too haha. It’s a very odd spot.
The bench makes the shot. I hope you sat on it to take it all in.
