Hi Wayne: Roughly what time of day through there for 450-451? I’m over on Skeleton Lake and eager to renew the chase from Ore train days!!
Dave, 450 and 451 are both typically nocturnal through here, but occasionally (such as in this instance) 451 will be late enough – and even more rarely – 450 might be early enough to catch in daylight. Of course you never know when something like that will happen, so I set up a Facebook group (CN’s “Newmarket North”) where folks further up or down the line will post “heads-up” notices. These include our secret weapon Reg (retired CN) in Bracebridge who keeps his ears glued to the scanner or the window, as more frequently the trains seem to be running in radio silence mode and he doesn’t let much slip by him.
