With a GMD GP40TC at either end, a 9-car "L9L" consist with GO 501 on the west end slinks through the crossovers at Mimico East on the Oakville Sub, near Park Lawn Rd. underpass. While this may look like a typical GO consist of the era, the bilevels here were only about 2 years old, all part of the initial order of 80 cars (2000-2079) from Hawker Siddeley Canada in Thunder Bay that began delivery in March 1977. Matching bilevel cab cars wouldn't follow for another few years until the next order in 1983.

The Queen Elizabeth Expressway overpass is visible in the distance, along with the water tower for the famed Mr. Christie (Christie Brown) factory (opened in 1950, but closed in 2013 and demolished for redevelopment). The apartment tower in the background was real estate developer Bramalea Ltd's new luxury "Palace Pier" tower, completed a year earlier.
