Who said the CASO Sub (Michigan Central) was straight. A Short C&O freight is westbound at Clanbrassil, ON. back in the days when a crummy brought up the tail end. This westbound freight has passed under the wooden farm access bridge and is traversing the sweeping S-curve.

    My goodness. What a charming scene. Hard to imagine that while this train rolled through Simcoe, a hometown boy was out in Woodstock, New York making some of the best music of our time…

    I’d argue the best music of our time was made in London, England at the time. :)

    Great location, this definitely shows the CASO wasn’t just arrow straight and actually had scenery.

    Of course. In May 1968 the Jimi Hendfix Experience was creating beautiful music in England with an American in the lead and two English session musicians for backup. Crosby Still and Nash were also tearing up the charts with beautiful three part harmonies and 33% of the group was English, 66% American.

    It was an amazing time for music just as it was for railroading :)
