Where was young Bishop when this train ran from Nanticoke to Paris on the Southern Ontario Railway? And after a re-crew at Paris, the train continued west and I happened to be in Sarnia for what turned out to be a very interesting and rarely seen leader out this way.
If memory serves me, this train had a symbol like 725, and a few of these managed to run from Stelco Nanticoke to somewhere down in the US (Ohio?) for a customer. There was only about four of these unit Steel trains from what I recall but I stand to be corrected. Thanks for anyone who can add their notes to this.

  1. Well I would have been 10, this probably was a weekend judging by when you usually visit Sarnia. So I’d guess I was playing hockey somewhere! At that age I was too young to be in the know. But even if I had seen this…The photos wouldn’t be any good haha

  2. Yes, it was a Sunday. I was aware of the trips down to Nanticoke… but I believe only one direction was in daylight.

  3. I can vaguely recall seeing this set Eastbound one night night making its CN to SOR crew change at Brantford!

  4. Symbol was U784 according to a source
