Caption: Where? Larocque. Well, I had never heard of it either, but the beauty of these modern day maps is I no longer have to dig out the old topographical maps to find where I have been or where I am going. They still accompany me on trips though. (I had marked this image at being shot at 'Clute') This is the ONR "Little Bear" on its way to Moosonee with the standard mixed train. Some of you 'Northern guys' are no doubt very familiar with this location, Glackmeyer Con 6-7 as indicated on the sign, one of the last decent shooting spots before the train is into the wilderness. Its a longer train than I expected, unfortunately, which leaves the coaches and the flats carrying autos and equipment mostly out of sight in this photo. Power up front is ONR 1809, 1804.

That’s a very popular little hill, as I stood in that very spot and got nearly an identical shot! After the train passed I slipped and slid down the slippery muddy slope on my arse, much to the delight of Greg. Good thing I packed a 2nd pair of pants. Thanks for the reminder…
Your old man takes great delight in seeing me end up on my arse like that. Too bad he wasn’t there to witness you !!
