When I lived in Winnipeg, a favourite train-watching activity was to follow CN's Emerson turn south to the interchange with Burlington Northern and Soo Line in Noyes, Minnesota. Provincial highway 75 closely follows the Letellier sub and train speeds allowed one to get several photos in each direction. Normally, you could also catch CP's train interchanging with the BN and SOO (in the era before CP took over the SOO) and until about 1983, Burlington Northern Manitoba would also run their own train--five trains from five railroads for an hour our so in the village of Noyes!

This is the last shot of the day from one of those trips--GMD1s 1028 and 1054 bringing 16 cars and the van home...almost 40 years ago, now.
