Westbound approaching mile 57 Galt sub., CP 5530, CN 7001 and CP 4705 seen as #937 from up on the Hwy 8 overpass. The middle unit is the x-CN 2100, reacquired by Bombardier along with 2101-2103 to operate as demonstrators 7001-7004 on CP between Feb 1983 and May 1984. The BBD HR616 3000 HP units were rated 3200 HP while on CP. After the trial, the units reverted to their old slotting on the CN roster. CP did not take an interest, and just as well, this model was associated with aggravations and the CN fleet was off roster by 1998.

  1. That’s a nice shot Mr. M. Sunny summer’s day. I haven’t seen that many lumber loads on CP on The Galt in many years.

  2. I could only imagine what large multimarked HR616′s would have looked like…!
