I’ll bet no one currently working in running trades on CP has ever worked on an engine painted in that scheme (excepting 3084 & the covered wagons for RCP). I worked on plenty of them in RS-3s, RS-10s,RS-18s, RS-23s and a few other classics. One I especially recall was train 904 from Windsor ON to London decades ago with 5541 as leader. I was told later it was the last SD-40 in the script paint job.
I neglected to mention,a stunning photo Tim.
This is beautiful, Tim.
Tim, an absolutely magnificent picture ! How did you manage to arrange dark grey cloud with sunshine on the mountains and heritage livery and train ? Beautiful colours ! In the ‘60’s , took the heritage paint scheme with script writing for granted. Well done and thanks for posting. And now for the lengthy “commute” back to Jasper.
Thanks guys…
@railwayguy, man did I ever get lucky. The sun appeared about 30 seconds before the train did.
