Caption: Victoria Day Monday 1978 finds the Goderich based yard job with GP9 4537 resting in front of the station along with wooden van 78426, used as a riding platform during shoves down the hill to the salt mine and grain elevators. Note the speeder shed beside the locomotive which still stands in very poor condition, and beyond Maitland Road the CNR freight shed which would burn down in 1988. 4537, built in 1957, is still on the roster as CN 7071. Today the line is of course run by the GEXR, and the station is now owned by Fauxpop Media company. Often times during the RailAmerica years of GEXR the stub tracks at far left could be found full of dead locomotives waiting to be stripped of parts and scrapped.
