Caption: VIA's eastbound Canadian pauses at Washago to detrain a handful of passengers to the waiting shuttle van. From here, number 2 will meet two northbounds at Pefferlaw before heading for its final stop at Toronto Union Station. The Bala siding, Newmarket main, and Newmarket siding are all gone today, leaving the Bala Sub main as the only track through the former junction area. At right, the former station sits along the former Newmarket Subdivision right of way, still used by maintenance crews in addition to the newer trailer installed a few years ago. The Newmarket Subdivision through Washago was realigned in 1955 when the Washago bypass on Highway 11 was constructed.
