Caption: VIA 6419 leads defective AMTK 121 and train VIA 97 / Amtrak 64 at 2:18 PM, running about five and a quarter hours late at this point. Congestion on the Oakville and Grimsby subs in Hamilton and beyond (CN freights 550 and 421 are ahead) would cause further delays. Remarkably, it is making its third pass under Lemonville Road bridge this afternoon - photos taken from the bridge confirm that AMTK 121's diesel engine was running, perhaps providing head end power.
The train had previously been down to the next control point, CN Snake (Road), waiting there for opposing train CN 422 to clear. It was a surprise when VIA 97 reversed back to Aldershot Station for a brief stop. My sympathies to the passengers.
