UNDER THE OVERPASS. Terra Transport Mixed Extra 935 West crosses under the TCH Overpass at Bishops Falls shortly after leaving the station on April 16, 1988. This was the photographers's third trip on the mixed and the very first (and only) for his friend Paul. The two would be the only passengers for the entire 138 mile journey to Corner Brook with the exception of a lone cabin owner who boarded at Millertown Junction and departed at Gaff Topsail. A special treat for both riders was that the train left Bishops Falls with passenger only equipment (Baggage 1308 and Coach 764) and would remain a mini 'Caribou' until four container units were picked up in Grand Falls, thus making it a true mixed. With the completion of the Trans-Canada Highway in 1965, dozens of overpasses were constructed across the right of way throughout the Island but most, such as this one, have since been replaced with corrugated steel pipe to allow access for the Trans Canada Trail.
