Awesome image! CP paint shot guys must have been happy when the stripes were eliminated! Must have been fun masking off the back of a SW1200, LOL!
I do love shots of these units. This is a hump set… the SW9′s were assigned to that duty for a number of years before bumped by GP7u and GP9u sets. I have a memory of these as a kid, but much more of them working the pull down after being bumped of tbe hump.
Last unit appears to be an SW1200RS in block lettering (narrow grey band on cab), likely 8112 which retained its Maroon & Grey into the mid-70′s. IIRC, 8112, 8116 and 8118 were reassigned hump duty to work with the six 7400-series SW9′s at Agincourt hump, account CP needed more power to cover the hump assignments when they went from 2-unit to 3-unit sets.
Thanks, guys. I really enjoy the fact you know your stuff. What I learned, I have mostly forgotten. )
