Caption: TTC PCC 4372 sits at the new Dundas West Subway Station streetcar platforms on Saturday February 19th 1966, the "first day" of the new Dundas streetcar extended routing to the east (some runs were extended east of Bay Street to Broadview Station, instead of serving City Hall Loop as the eastern route terminus). This car, signed for Runnymede Loop, would loop the station, depart and head northwest on Dundas to the namesake loop at Runnymede Road, before turning back eastbound for its run to Broadview.
At the time of this photo, the Bloor-Danforth subway line itself was not officially open yet, but the station loop had opened to streetcars on the morning of the 16th, coinciding with the abandonment of Vincent Loop across the street. The official first day of subway operation was next Saturday, on February 26th.
