Caption: TTC PCC 4010 (A1-class, part of the first order of PCC's built new for Toronto by CC&F in 1938) heads eastbound on Queen Street West at Gladstone Avenue on the Kingston Road route, passing through the Parkdale area of Toronto and climbing out of the dip under the CN Weston Sub and CP Galt Sub railway underpasses (the "Queen Street Subway", built in 1897). Some CN 40' boxcars occupy the closest bridge span, which is painted fresh silver with the then-new CN "noodle" logo in black. A TTC GM New Look bus follows behind the streetcar, possibly a Dufferin bus lining up for turning north onto Gladstone (navigating the "Dufferin Jog" traffic had to make around the railway underpasses.

Note: This slide is a little soft on the right side. Apparently in the 1960's there was an unknown US-based transit photographer (possibly a fellow named John H. Eagle) who took many photos on his US and Canadian travels with a slightly misaligned lens, that always showed on the right side in his slides (making them easy to identify). By the 70's it appears the unknown photographer had it fixed or upgraded to a better camera.
