By this time, the remaining Peter Witts were on borrowed time. The University subway line would open in a few months, eliminating the need for the remaining old Witt cars, which made a few appearances on fantrips and extra runs before being stored in April of 1963 and officially retired in early 1965. 2300 was donated to the CRHA and put on display at their Harbourfront museum for a number of years (it had been regauged from TTC to regular North American rail gauge). In more recent years, it was stored inside the former CPR John St. roundhouse in rough shape until being sent to Exporail in St. Constant QC in June of 2008.
