Caption: Trivia Time: What was this “Northern-Type" called when it was first produced?
Class U-3a, #6305, was built by the American Locomotive Company (Alco) for the Grand Trunk Western in July, 1927. The Grand Trunk Western Railroad was the US subsidiary of the CNR. Just twelve locomotives of this specific class were built (6300 – 6311). She was retired / scrapped in March, 1960. Trivia Answer: “Confederation”.
