Notice the pink icicles in the back corner of the locomotive? The separate Caterpillar diesel had a major coolant leak the night before on #48 causing the HEP unit to overheat. 632 is running with no HEP just as 48 had to do the night before. There is a way to provide HEP through the traction alternator which is what we had to do all the way from Cobourg the night before. Get her up to track speed then switch over to standby for the coaches while coasting. Made for a long trip to say the least.
