Caption: Toronto Transit Commission Peter Witt streetcars 2894 and 2834 sit at Ferry Loop off Queen's Quay, signed up as Bay and Dupont cars respectively, but both destined for the Docks (here). The TTC's Peter Witt fleet was running borrowed time, with only a few years left before the remaining cars were retired from regular service at the beginning of 1965. Ferry Loop, built in 1961 due to route changes associated with the Gardiner Expressway, would also stop being used in September 1965. In the background is the Government of Ontario Workmans Compensation Board building in background on Harbour Street (built 1953, later became the OPP Headquarters, demolished 2011).

Both cars were part of the 2800-2898 group of "small" Peter Witt cars (only even numbers) built by the Ottawa Car Company in the early 1920's. Car 2834 was likely scrapped sometime after retirement, but 2894 was sold off and sat in a barn on a property near Barrie, before the TTC acquired it back for overhaul and use on the Belt Line Tour Tram service in the 1970's. Today it resides at the Halton County Radial Railway Museum offering rides to visitors.
