Toronto - London train 77 is seen crossing over from the south track of the Oakville Sub, taking the switch onto the north track of the Dundas at Bayview Junction.  77 has just backed out to Bayview after stopping at Hamilton's James Street station, where the three head end express boxcars seen earlier as it passed by were setoff.Scan and editing by Jacob Patterson.

  1. A big wave from the fireman. What a beautiful locomotive! Nice capture John!
    Clean looking plant. Ballast well groomed, not a weed in sight to the toe line. Joints well oiled. Spikes down tight, rail anchors in place.
    Looks like the Signal Maintainer has been out applying a fresh coat of silver paint to the power switch machines.
    A wonderful 1960′s CN scene that brings back a lot of nice memories.

  2. Paul, my pleasure and thanks to Jacob Patterson for scanning, cleaning and posting. In the 1960’s, main lines were “neat & clean”, but once M of W personnel were greatly reduced or privatized and introduction of CWR, it has all changed, John
