Caption: Thru the maze that was West Toronto Junction is CP 5527, 4724, 4203, a "caboose hop" heading over to Lambton to pick up a train.
Photo taken from the old Weston Rd bridge. Train is crossing the CN Weston sub and the CP MacTier sub. as it leaves North Toronto Sub and enters the Galt sub.
The original Toronto, Grey & Bruce trackage was between the CN/CP and the N.T.O. connector (to MacTier sub) at upper left.
Track in lower foreground is the Galt sub trackage.
Trackcar 'shanty' in foreground.
Confusing or what?
No longer. This whole junction has been completely gutted and rebuilt for new highspeed commuter service between downtown and the Airport.
Hope I got this right!! Open to corrections.

The power was either for the “O.O.D.” which was the “Oakville,Oshawa, Detroit” an auto and autoparts train lifted at Lambton…or the 56 Car Acid train for the London Division.
The extra unit would be needed on the OOD for tonnage if the train exceed 5100 tons..or if they had a stock set off for Ayr, back at Maus on the pit spur (4 axle units only)…or to handle the tonnage for the larger Acid train…or a very unusual power move to some point on the Galt Sub or even at Quebec St (London) for a next day work train.
I don’t recall if there were 56 car acids for Hamilton..but even if there were, I don’t think tonnage would have been a factor in 1977 because all Hamilton traffic ex Toronto went on the CN joint section, not the Guelph Jct way.
