This was one of the best trains I've ever chased (and the worst driving conditions I've ever been in). Just arriving at Cowie (now known as Stratford West), the crew has stopped to throw the switch for the mainline allowing me to soak it in, and I composed this scene. You can't even tell but that's the Guelph subdivision mainline in the foreground. It's my understanding the mainline was plowed by the 'other' plow either this day or the next (which would have been the orange plow at the time).
Compare to this OSR image as they are almost the same, but I really really prefer the matching Raillink schemes in this classic GEXR shot. What do you prefer for paint on the F units? Seeing that they have moved from GEXR to OSR and are still in the area. I suspect this will be a divisive question :)

  1. 4001 looks quite nice with the lettering on the side and the yet-to-be-patched nose.

  2. Very nice! I never got bored of that lash up.

  3. Raillink Canada’s official scheme was a good one…osr’s f units are surprisingly similar in design… just different colours :)

  4. It was better back then

  5. I saw 4001 on the Coronado sub quite a few times back in early 2000′s.
