Caption: This was a nice treat to see a stack train on the Grimsby Sub. Pictured here at about mile 42.5 or so, detour train 122 is on the hot track, continuing its journey towards BIT.
This was my second time doing this angle (the first was for a late 331 when I decided to finally try it out), and I chose this spot as it is unmistakably Hamilton, and shows much of the CN stacks going through town. Clouds were looming large behind me as I watched 122 approach, and another three minutes or so and I would have lost all sun. These were tense moments indeed.

Great to see a stacker on the Grimbsy again. I remember when this was a normal everyday or every few days on this subdivision .Great pic.

This operated as CSX train X90002 between Walbridge (Toledo) and Buffalo and would obviously be train 148.

Ran into some bad luck with its counterpart yesterday.. I was out Friday night doing some night shots around Hamilton (wild Friday!), when I heard 127 having issues at Snake around 2330. Eventually around 0130 I heard RTC telling the crew to call them in six hours to get a cab from the hotel back to the train, so I went back at around 0730 for it. After a while, 421 eventually dropped a rescue unit (2407) for it in Aldershot, which then took a while for 127 to even be able to get on the train. Then they ran into issues with a handbrake, then it started pouring (and there were still no signs of them even moving). The moral of the story… can’t win them all! What I thought would be nice morning light on an early 127 through Hamilton (which it would have been if they’d got moving in anything resembling a reasonable time) turned out to be four hours of completely wasted time haha
