This photo seemed fitting for this dreary weather. It’s hard to believe I shot this over 20 years ago, but this day after work I made it up to Guelph Jct. and managed to catch the rail geometry train stopping on the main so the crew could take a break in the office. Back then the 1117 was still with its original mother, GP9 8243 but within a few years it would find a new mate GP38 3057, which it would be mated to until its last days before being scrapped in 2003. Behind the train a westbound with a former Union Pacific SD40 trailing can be seen just about to head out onto the OCS.

  2. Thanks Steve! I did manage to get it once with a “live” C424 and a GP35. The only GP35 I ever shot on CP.
