Caption: This often-illusive critter is returning and deeper into Vale’s compound with a single tank car just picked up from the inbound track previously set off by CN. When passing by on Durham St, an inbound car was evident, but something seemed different regarding the critter’s customary parking spot. By the time that I had bypassed construction and traffic to reach the outside parking lot, the crew had already spotted an empty car on the outbound track. The 2-person crew assisting the move conveniently scooted about in an EZGO (22) 4-wheeler. The Trackside Guide describes this VALE critter as GE, serial 31716, 2/1953 and 45T … acquired new, ballasted to 50T. Is this colourful critter one and the same as the INCO yellow critter captured by Paul Chapman 12/18/1980 and recently submitted by / from Dean Brown’s collection? Unique covers have been added in the interim, as a safety precaution most likely, to prevent riding on the footboards per se.
