This must be one of the last Amtrak Niagara Rainbow trains--although newly equipped with F40PH locomotives and Amfleet cars, the train only operated until January 31, 1979 when the service was truncated at Niagara Falls, NY. Here we have Amtrak No. 64 passing through Canfield on its journey over the Conrail Canada Division between Detroit and Niagara Falls.

  1. Looks like the Dunnville is abandoned in this photo too.

  2. Not yet; CN’s Dunnville Sub was removed from service in Jun1980 between mile 38 and mile 58 ( Dunnville -Caledonia).

  3. Interesting, how often would they have ran at the end?

  4. Can’t answer that, specifically.
