This location is unmistakable for Guelph fans, this is the Sleeman Manor, completed in the summer of 1891 this was Guelph's most expensive house, and the first to have electricity. Sleeman also built a Streetcar network in Guelph and had a first spike ceremony in front of the manor. It's still one of Guelph's most visible buildings as it's easily seen from the Hanlon Expressway, and now it's Guelph's only Strip Club, filled with legend and lore now owed by the Cohen Family.- They've unfortunately and recently painted the exterior of the limestone some silly colours just weeks before the building was given heritage designation nearly ruining what heritage this building had left, externally anyway.
This was back when L542 ran out of Galt 5 to 7 days a week, you had to get up really early to get the eastbound run and it's just past 0800 as I took this photo. The clouds rolled in shortly thereafter as you can see. CN 542 which was 582 under GEXR was mostly taken for granted except for a few of us locals. Most of that business has dried up and now it's only a twice a week run or thereabouts but going the wrong way when it's sunny.

  1. Correction: 542/582 began in Preston, not Galt. Technically the City of Cambridge today.
