This is something you will never ever see anywhere else. On this very hot and humid spring day, I went and got my first shots of the ex-CN Burlington West (also known as Freeman) Station. These were my first shots of it since 2005, just after it was moved to the fire station property on Fairview Street. As many of us know this was due to the expansion of GO train service in the Golden Horseshoe, which required a third track.

In it's 'new' location a very dedicated group of workers are measuring up the window. But it's just not any group of workers, they're all volunteers and members of the Friends of Freeman Station Society. I met one of the volunteers who oversaw all the projects...and he gave me the royal tour. He was so good he even talked me into becoming a member!

  1. Having been a regular at this station (see my photo above) I very much appreciate the hard work going into it.

Thank you to the volunteers who make it possible. I am looking forward to a visit – and I’ll surely put a donation in the collection box!
