This is a shot i'd never try on a regular day as there are far too many vehicles and trucks on HWY 7 - you'll almost certainly get something blocking your shot. This is not regular days and neither is this train - L533 is leaning into the curve just east of MP45 with a typically large train and an interesting gaggle of motive power variety, but it was the GTW unit in Daylight that got me out of the house. Even still, 533 in Daylight doesn't happen all that often (once or twice a month?). Too bad it wasn't sunny or it would have been even better. In the background is the Jones Baseline overpass.

  1. Very unfortunate waking up to the horn of a daylight 533 and seeing pictures of it later

  2. Nice picture Stephen, know the location well, passing it many times on my way to Halton County Radial Railway. You’re right about the light to no vehicle traffic, and CN doesn’t have to worry about GO train traffic today nor VIA until the evening. Love the lash up , not just colourful but a GT blue paint unit as well. Interesting that we refer to it as a GTW locomotive but the lettering on her side is just GT. Thanks for chasing and sharing.

  3. I spy a blue unit that’s not a GMTX one. I love the good power likes to sneak in on 533. Great catch.

  4. Liam time to get up earlier bud, they departed at 10 am just after 84 which is very typical.

  5. They set-off a GMTX unit at Kitchener and lifted GMTX 2289. Good location choice for this one Steve.

  6. And you didn’t even have to go to Sarnia for it! …or did you?

  7. Ahahhaha Tim!!
