Caption: There seems to to be a very common strategy applied by the 2 major railroads with the kind of power provided for yard crews who deliver and pickup cars. For CN it is the 7530, 7520 and 7518, all former hump GP38-2's. For CP it is the 3126, 4432 and 4507. All with a different history, the 3126 is straightforward, the 4432 is a former SOO unit and the 4507 is originally a Milwaukee Road GP38-2. Although both sets of units look to be set up the same, cab end is rear on a 75hundred, thanks to Matt Watson for pointing this out. It is 8:45 and the CN midnight Scona job is only just now heading back to Clover Bar. Their night is going to get even longer as in a few minutes the way home will be blocked by derailed auto racks. At this moment in the photo, the CN units are almost over the East Edmonton diamond, while behind, CP pumps air to pull tanks out of I.O.L.

Nice shot and comparison of GP38-2′s and paint schemes.
Thanks a bunch Jason. I had to be quick out of the car to catch this one. CN was already moving towards the diamond when I pulled up.
I should add a thank you to CN. This shot last summer was impossible with all the brush growing in the foreground ditch. The shave it got last year is still working good.
I was the brakeman on the 0800 Lambton job lifting IOL, you get any more pics of us that you’d be willing to share? Thanks
To sd40luver: I bet that was you I saw walking down checking the tanks as the units charged the brakeline. The only other CP photo I have from this spring at this location is Sunday May 5th at 7:30, the units were the 4432 and 4422. If you are usually in this area early on the weekend working, I can certainly try to catch you again. It’s great to hear from someone who I have taken a photo of.
That was my partner actually, I stayed at the head end and pulled the car back to Lampton park. My partner is interested in his picture also if you got any of him.
Thanks again
No, sorry, I did not catch you guys in the photo on this day. I did not pan any further to the right than this. As I mentioned, watch for me on weekend mornings, I will be looking for you guys around the diamond. If we connect, we can set something up.
