Caption: The usual ho hum drive back from the cabin on the lake required a u turn today when I spotted this TTC subway car at the Coffee Time on the corner of HWY 28 and HWY 7. The friendly trucker gave his permission :)

  1. Is this one of the wrecked units? Or did it look wrecked to you? Or was it out on a “field trip” to “parts unknown”?

  2. Didn’t seem to have any exterior damage at all. Truck had Quebec plates and was headed east.

  3. A source has told me that this unit has apparently been retired (surprising for a T1), and is heading to be converted into a work car.

  4. That is a bit early for a T1 to be facing retirement. Normally the TTC loves to drive them until they drop (with a few notable exceptions). But this is a great find.

  5. If you had passed this on the Hwy coming home you would’ve thought “ you don’t see this everyday”. But to have seen it at a truck stop and be able to pull in and take a picture, amazing.
