Caption: The top eastbound signal is lit up amber for the descent into Brampton, but CN 338 is going nowhere fast - 10,300 horsepower idles away on the outskirts of the city on a cold winter's day, awaiting the arrival of a new crew. The old SD40-2 nearest the photographer proudly displays the "CN North America" logo, something that didn't last too long before being dropped from new deliveries and repaints. Trackspeed from this point east slows to 35mph into town, for crossing the interlocking diamonds of the OBRY's Owen Sound Spur.
The new Chinguacousy Road bridge was opened not too long ago, and the old roadway crossing was still in place here, albeit blocked off, serving as an access road for crew change vehicles. Once the new crew is taxied and and set up on their train, 338 would be on the move again to cover the final 17 miles to its termination point at MacMillan Yard in Concord.
