Caption: The throaty cry of a trio of second generation END’s echoes off the turn of the century Krug furniture factory across the tracks from the shared VIA / GO station at Kitchener, as GEXR Road train excelerates out of town after a tail end drop at the yard. Lead unit “tunnel motor” #3054 is a fan favourite and probably one of the most phographed locomotives in Ontario, that isn’t an Alco, or “F” unit. By years end not only the locomotives here will change but the paint scheme too as CN ends the lease of the line to the GEXR. The sight of second generation road units here surly will fade as newer wide cab, more environmentally friendly motive power takes over. Luckily the locals should still see a mix of older GP38s and GP9 rebuilds for years to come. Thanks Goderich Exeter for the fond memories, you will be missed, but at least the shortline should still survive on the lines to Goderich as well as to Hensal.

Nice. I am wondering if you were cursing a ‘head-on’ sun. )
Superb my friend. With a nice fluff of diesel smoke too.
Nice! That’s usually the spot where 431 begins to accelerate as it heads out of Kitchener.
It’s more interesting that 582 isn’t on duty and you had power at the station – I’m told jobs have changed again but don’t have the details.
