The only thing brightening up this grey winter day was a pair of factory fresh GP20C's. The pair have just backed onto a cut of covered hoppers, once they have finished assembling cars from both tracks they well head back to the mainline to collect the rest of their train. Fast forward to the fall of 2016 and reportedly the mill has been sold to Cargil. It has been weeks since a car was spotted here, but here's hoping that trend won't continue and soon hoppers will be rolling once again down the short but scenic spur to the mill. There is a lot of history here so hopefully the new owners will keep these rails full as they were when it was ADM.

  1. Thanks for posting this Marcus. It’s hard to fathom ADM going weeks without a spot.

  2. Marcus, I don’t know why but I see vertical lines on this photo in the top and bottom (white parts) and not sure what caused it. We should fix this :)

  3. Steve
I’m not seeing what you are seeing. There are tree branches and guide wires for hydro lines in the shot ?

  4. What I see is caused by heavy JPG compression. When saving a JPG save it in Photoshop with quality level 9 or higher.

    Don’t go lower than 9 :)

  5. And I am saddened ADM isn’t getting service. I’ve shot it a few times over the years but not lately..
