Caption: The old Pere Marquette station in Kingsville, one time almost met it's maker by way of the wrecking ball. However, someone, somewhere saw what every rail fan would see - the history, and it was saved despite the removal of a few tiles of slate from it's roof line.
Now restored both inside and out, as well as the surroundings (used to be all industiral - all have gone and replaced by residential dwellings)...it is definitely an eye catcher along the Chrysler Greenway Trail. The station is now home to Mettawa's, a great little restaurant and well worth the visit.
PS - any of you veteran photographers out there want to Time Machine this gem? I'd love to see this happen with someone posting the same angle, but with the station still in service.

Wow! Another station with amazing stonework.
Definitely a structure worth the effort of restoration.
Nice picture Todd.
Glad you are recording these stations.
