The new paint jobs on these two Great Sandhills units really make them stand out. I trust more will be done. The scene is late in the afternoon and this westbound has just finished putting its' train together at Pennant and is heading toward home base at Leader. We are just west of the Pennant as the grain elevator is actually in a hamlet referred to as Battrum. Anyway, nice countryside on a very pleasant day. Power is GSR 2022, 2009 and HLCX 3839.

  1. Sweet prairie scene. Very nice, Arnold.

  2. From the main page thumbnail I thought we were looking at some early Conrail or D&H shenanigans with ex-Reading units. Those are sharp.

  3. This is great!! Nice effort

  4. Thanks, Lad(s)………one has to put on a lot of miles in order to find anything…as those western fellers are well aware.

  5. The variety in Ontario (and in surrounding states) is certainly not to be taken for granted.

My trips to florida result in quite a bit of stuff even though i have very limited time…. and in that drive to Florida I’m still in Ontario by distance….
