The morning was sufficiently foggy enough to stay at home but I thought, "what the heck". Out I went. After AMTK 108 (50th Ann) went east the light soon went back to green as I was expecting the morning #421. Instead, I get this.
Bit of a surprise, CN 8941 with the Evaluation Budd in tow. First time I have seen this car not under its' own power.

  1. Awesome. I went to Niagara Falls for this. Nice work with the flowers.

I’m told the issue is the RDC has issues with track circuits and crossing signals so they have to add a locomotive now.

  2. Ran as CN K941

  3. Always nice being surprised like that. A nice photo.

  4. Steve, the solution is…to add a second RDC!

  5. Neat shot.

It weird that the unit has run solo for at least a decade, and only now are issues arising.

  6. Mike I heard CN 998 on the radio multiple times. Perhaps the Engineer would be so kind to let us know what he ran it as :) A picture to come soon.

  7. My info on the number was repeated several times on the radio by the dispatcher !

  8. @NiagaraMike11, I don’t know how you got CN K941 as a symbol, maybe you mistaken that the leader is CN8941 on the radio perhaps? I was the engineer on that job and we were identified as CN 998 to other trains and the rtc.

  9. The best news is from the source, thanks for the info!
