Caption: The former CP Chalk River subdivision is one piece of track I wish I had spent more time following. Back in these days CP leased the line to Railink Canada to operate overhead freight trains. Unfortunately a few years after RailAmerica took over the lease, it was terminated for good. This was the final nail in the coffin for CP and the overhead traffic never returned. Years later CP ripped up the line between Mattawa and Smith Falls ending any chance of a reprieve. What remains today is operated by G&W’s Ottawa Valley Railroad. This day CP train 107 has been forced to stop near Warren with another westbound parked a block away. I never found out to be cause. Here the engineer is going over paperwork on the nose that is probably related to the problem. This subdivision was very scenic in certain areas.
