The engineer aboard train 628 from Stratford to Toronto gives a wave as the train flies past Malton station, crossing Scarboro Street, today the only grade crossing remaining on the Weston Sub. With GO Transit assuming commuter operations in 1974, a new station was built further east, with this 1912 structure being demolished around the same time.

  1. Beauty. Never seen this station before.

  2. A rare shot of a rare spot! And looks like two RDC’s are tacked on the rear end.

  3. Work cars in the siding, the signals for Halwest in the distance. Is that your bug off tot he right, John?

  4. That signal in the background is currently now the Airway plant. I’m always amazed by old photos of the Weston, such a dramatic change from then to now. Unreal stuff

  5. Wow….great photo! Too bad the station was demolished.

  6. Thank you all for your comments. No Jacob, my VW Bug was grey, it could have been Ed Jordan’s or Jim Brown’s. This was the station Jim used to commute from to downtown Toronto on one of the two CN Guelph – Toronto commuter trains.

  7. There were two commuter trains from Guelph! Wild.
