The electric lock switch at Mile 41 of the Grimsby Sub has been restored to normal and the 0700 is on its way into Parkdale Yard, from where it will head into Hamilton's industrial area via the wye and New Gages Spur. Cars in tow are for Stelco (coils and lone tank) and Parkland Fuels (the tail end tanks). Going around the wye at Parkdale allows both customers to be switched without running around the train.

  2. I enjoy the push button controls at Ottawa St, and the electric switch lock.

    422 used to lift Parkdale heading east, that was always interesting – circa 2004/5.

  3. That’s really nice light bathing the scene ! Great location too ! I always wondered why there’s often a lone tank car in the middle of the coils for Stelco – both coming and going.

    @ Steve. Saw a 331 stop there once a few years ago. That’s it for me.

    @ Aitch. Tank is for a byproduct of coke making I believe. Ammonia.

  5. I saw the 7515 on Joe’s Hamilton yard photo. If I remember the comments right from awhile back, your area has not had many 7500′s wandering the rails. It’s great having something new to photograph.

  6. The 7500′s are out. Tbere are at least 3 roaming now.

    They added sd40-2′s to the dual hump in Toronto.
