Caption: The CP Galt Job with SW1200RS 8161 and GP7u 1501 are working the large BF Goodrich tire plant in Kitchener on the Goodrich Spur in spring 1995. This was a regular if not daily switch by the crews during the week, which also serviced Al's Cartage on the same industrial spur. Like most things manufacturing in Kitchener, the years that followed were not kind, as BF Goodrich officially closed in summer 2006 with the resulting loss of 1,100 jobs. After sitting dormant for many years, the Goodrich Spur was officially severed from the Waterloo Subdivision during summer 2018. However, sightings this winter have confirmed that track removal equipment might have been placed there to remove the remaining sections of the once thriving spur.

Huh, never realized Al’s had a spur. Worked there one night as an office temp and didn’t see any rail infrastructure.
@dhaisell- Yes they had a spur that ran beside the building along the road there. The spur was still there behind the fence I believe as of last summer anyway.
