Caption: The Conductor and Brakeman are seen Through the tattered window of the Chatham Depot as Sarnia to Chatham train D725 has arrived and is crossing the Canadian Pacific Railway at grade. The conductor will quickly enter the depot where the on-duty station clerk has printed todays paperwork, and the brakeman will get off at the station to throw the switch lining the train, in a reverse movement, into the CP/CSX interchange yard. With 85 cars in tow they do not take too long, as many road and rail crossings (including the CN Chatham subdivision just south of here) are blocked in town as these moves occur.
In three weeks - the CSX Canadian District once again continue retreating towards Sarnia as 30 miles of track were either sold or discontinued, the Chatham depot would be demolished in mere months, and trains would no longer roll from Sarnia to Chatham, at least for a few years. Chatham Kent is likely to re-activate the Chatham to Wallaceburg section of this line in early 2013.

Great shot Steve, I’m glad I got at least one shot there before CSX left. The station will be missed.
Thank you.
